Most of us never saw Tron until the film debuted in 1982—but that’s NOT where Tron was born.
Animator Steven Lisberger, who would go on to direct the film, originally created the elec-TRONI-ic (get it?) figure as part of a promo for his Lisberger Studio. It was that promo that eventually inspired the look of the world.

The Blair Witch Project came out of nowhere to scare the $%!@ out of us and rake it in at the box office, then followed that surprise success with a sequel that … didn’t.
Paranormal Activity was another low-budget horror flick that seemingly came out of nowhere to blow us away and pick our pockets.

Word has been spreading today that 17-year-old actor Josh Hutcherson has been offered the role of Spider-Man in the Sony Pictures reboot scheduled for summer 2012. The Blue Sky Disney blog reported the news first, although it’s important to note that there has been no official confirmation yet that Hutcherson has won the role.
